The enlargement of the figure of the artist is essentially due to his mediatic multiplication and in particular on a cinematographic level. In the meanwhile narrations regarding the “artistar”, that is to say those completely imaginary artists, multiplied.
Successful artists or on the brink of suicide, gallery directors ended up in handcuffs and museums as scene of murders, insane poetics described by paranoiac critics give life to a fauna of characters and places linked to the art world crowding the plots at the cinema and on TV.
The common denominator among these characters and scenarios is that they belong to the circle of the artistic creativity, reinterpreted according to the rules (and the naïve remarks) of the fiction language.
Starting from the representation of the artist in the cinematographic and television field, the laboratory aims at deeply analysing the elements describing and narrating the personalities of the single fiction artists.
Through a series of sequences and video editing and thanks to the support of forms to be filled up, ARTfiction Identity proposes a path of reconstruction of those aspects defining the artistic identity.
